Overview
About the Rongai Route
The Rongai Route is the only route that approaches Kilimanjaro from the north, near the Kenyan border. This northern approach offers a unique and dramatically different perspective of the mountain — drier, quieter, and with landscapes unlike any other route. The northern slopes receive far less rainfall than the southern and western approaches, making the Rongai an excellent choice during Tanzania's rainy seasons (March–May and November). The route descends via the Marangu trail, offering climbers the chance to experience two distinct sides of the mountain.
Your booking contributes to the Happy Miracle Children's Foundation — providing shelter and education for vulnerable children in Arusha.
